Top tips for a great experience

  1. Bring a mat / blanket to put under you and a cover to keep you warm. A pillow or cushion is also good.
  2. Arrive early - to make sure we minimise disturbance it is strictly no entry once the gongs have started and we always start on time.
  3. Try to find your quiet space as soon as you come in.  This will help you find a deeper relaxation- time for a chat afterwards.
  4. Switch off your phone - you don’t need it.
  5. Get comfy - lie on your back, front, side, out straight or curled up - what ever feels right. Some like to sit against a wall, some bring bean bags etc
  6. First you’re guided into relaxation releasing physical tension then the gongs will play - just lie back and enjoy
  7. It’s ok to change position, sit up , go to the loo if you need to - just try to do so quietly
  8. Let other  noises from outside flow over you - just accept them as part of the experience.
  9. The monkey mind will often chatter - don’t worry about it just notice the thoughts like passing traffic and come back to the sound of the gongs.
  10. Everyone has a different experience and every gong bath is different. You may see images, dream, see colours, you may sleep deeply or you may  lie in relaxation listening- all experiences are valid- there is no right or wrong. It is what it is. Don’t think your not doing it properly there is no right or wrong way.
  11. After the gongs have finished you will be guided back out of relaxation. Make sure you are fully grounded before leaving- clap your body stamp your feet talk to others especially if driving.
  12. The direct effects of the gongs can last for a couple of days - drink lots of water and look after yourself

Contraindications :  Group settings may not always be appropriate - contact me if you are not sure.
